For many NASCAR fans, race weekend isn’t complete without camping at the track. Darlington Raceway offers a mix of infield and outside camping options for both RVs and tents, allowing you to choose between being right in the middle of the action or enjoying a quieter stay just outside the oval.
Camping spaces are extremely popular and tend to sell out quickly, especially for the Cook Out Southern 500 weekend. Fans are often required to join a waiting list for infield spots or book outside camping well in advance to secure their place. Camping here is a social and immersive way to experience “The Track Too Tough To Tame”. Whether you want full RV hookups with water and power or prefer a simple tent site, there’s an option to match every fan’s style.
Infield RV Camping – Power and Water Hookups
If you want to be at the heart of the weekend, the infield RV areas are the ultimate choice. You’ll be surrounded by the roar of engines, the smell of race fuel, and the electric energy of fellow fans.
Infield tent camping – no hookups
If you love the infield atmosphere but are traveling light, the tent camping areas offer a more traditional, close‑to‑the‑track experience without hookups. Each site is landscaped for a pleasant stay.
Outside camping – power and water hookups
If you want a quieter environment with the convenience of hookups, outside RV camping is ideal. You’ll still be close to the track without the constant infield noise.
Sunset RV – Located off Tunnel Road, just minutes from the frontstretch grandstands. With reserved spaces and a calmer atmosphere, this area is perfect for a relaxing stay while keeping the action within walking distance.
Outside camping – no hookups
Outside camping without hookups is a simple, budget‑friendly option for both RVs and tents. These areas still give you easy access to the track while offering a more laid‑back camping experience.
