Camping

For many NASCAR fans, race weekend isn’t complete without camping at the track. Darlington Raceway offers a mix of infield and outside camping options for both RVs and tents, allowing you to choose between being right in the middle of the action or enjoying a quieter stay just outside the oval.

Camping spaces are extremely popular and tend to sell out quickly, especially for the Cook Out Southern 500 weekend. Fans are often required to join a waiting list for infield spots or book outside camping well in advance to secure their place. Camping here is a social and immersive way to experience “The Track Too Tough To Tame”. Whether you want full RV hookups with water and power or prefer a simple tent site, there’s an option to match every fan’s style.

Official campsite options

Infield RV Camping – Power and Water Hookups
If you want to be at the heart of the weekend, the infield RV areas are the ultimate choice. You’ll be surrounded by the roar of engines, the smell of race fuel, and the electric energy of fellow fans.

  • East End RV – Located between Turns 1 and 2, this spot combines convenience with excellent track views. You’ll feel the cars rush by just outside your door.
  • Infield Camping – Nestled between the NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series garages, this area puts you in the center of the action, perfect for fans who want to live and breathe the race all weekend.

Infield tent camping – no hookups
If you love the infield atmosphere but are traveling light, the tent camping areas offer a more traditional, close‑to‑the‑track experience without hookups. Each site is landscaped for a pleasant stay.

  • Grounds Green – Between Turns 1 and 2, providing a front‑row feel to Darlington’s high‑speed action.
  • Grounds Red – Between Turns 3 and 4 on the west side, a great spot for evening sun and classic infield vibes.
  • Grounds Yellow – Also between Turns 3 and 4, featuring landscaped areas and a clear view of the cars storming past.

Outside camping – power and water hookups
If you want a quieter environment with the convenience of hookups, outside RV camping is ideal. You’ll still be close to the track without the constant infield noise.

  • Sunset RV – Located off Tunnel Road, just minutes from the frontstretch grandstands. With reserved spaces and a calmer atmosphere, this area is perfect for a relaxing stay while keeping the action within walking distance.

Outside camping – no hookups
Outside camping without hookups is a simple, budget‑friendly option for both RVs and tents. These areas still give you easy access to the track while offering a more laid‑back camping experience.

  • Pearson RV – Off Hwy 151; a private reserved RV space just a short walk to the frontstretch.
  • Petty RV – Off Tunnel Road; lighted with private reserved parking for your RV.
  • Caveman Tent Camping – Behind the Darlington Raceway credential building, this is the only outside tent camping area, perfect for fans who prefer a quieter night under the stars.
