If you're heading to the Cook Out Southern 500 and want to skip the hassle of parking, there are a few local transportation options that can make your trip easier and more convenient.
Fans attending the Cook Out Southern 500 can take advantage of the PDRTA Fan Shuttle service operating between the Florence Center in Florence and the Darlington Raceway.
Shuttles usually depart from the Florence Center (3300 W Radio Dr, Florence, SC) several times throughout the afternoon and head directly to the raceway before the event begins.
Return service from Darlington Raceway will start later in the evening, with the final shuttle leaving approximately 90 minutes after the end of the race.
All shuttle passengers are required to register in advance. This service is available to all race ticketholders.
While Darlington is a smaller town, rideshare services like Uber and Lyft do operate in the area, especially during major events like race weekends. These services are particularly useful if you're staying in Darlington, Florence, or a nearby community and prefer not to drive to the track.
Tip: Be sure to schedule your ride in advance, especially for your return trip, as availability may be limited in Darlington once the race ends.
Taxi services are limited but may be available through local providers in Des Moines or Darlington. It’s strongly recommended to book ahead if you plan to rely on a taxi.
