How do I meet the racers?

Heading to the Cook Out Southern 500 and hoping to score some autographs? Here are some handy tips to improve your chances:

Sponsors and teams frequently organise meet-and-greet sessions with drivers, and many of these are open to fans regardless of ticket type. It’s a good idea to check in advance or ask event staff once you arrive. While access to the garages and pit lane usually requires special credentials, there are occasional opportunities through specific passes or scheduled activities. Drivers often pass through the Fanzone on their way to or from the car – stay alert, as some will pause to sign autographs or take a quick photo if they have time.

Most drivers don’t hand out free merchandise, so bring something small and easy to sign – like a cap, T-shirt, programme, poster, or a miniature car. Having something ready makes it more likely you'll get a signature without holding things up.

Race day can be chaotic. Suppose you get a chance to meet a driver, be polite and quick. Try not to interrupt interviews or team briefings. Lines can be long at fan sessions, so patience is key to having a good experience.
